Dr. Erika Bright is a private music instructor and freelancer based in Sandy, UT.  She is an oboist and English horn member the Orchestra at Temple Square and substitute with the Utah Symphony. Dr. Bright holds degrees in oboe performance from the University of Utah (DMA), Brigham Young University(MM) and University of Colorado at Boulder (BM).  Her goal as a private teacher is to help students develop musical understanding, establish goals and aspirations, discover individual strengths, and find joy in the journey of musicianship.

 

In addition to woodwind workshops, Dr. Bright is a masterclass clinician on the topic of Navigating Performance Anxiety. As such she has taught workshops in university classrooms, local schools, and the International Double Reed Society Conference.  She has also created a music education curriculum for seniors in the community in collaboration with Mundi Project and the state of Utah.
