The Mission of
Mountain Springs Music Incorporated
01. Chamber Music
Chamber music fosters accountability and creativity and strengthens interpersonal skills and individualism. In orchestral music, where players learn to follow the direction of the conductor, string players learn to blend in with others who play the same parts, and/or only a few wind and keyboard players are given a chance to play at all. In contrast, in chamber music, each part is given to only one player, making every player to be accountable for their part. Since usually there is no conductor in chamber music, players need to be more proactive about communicating and rehearsing. Also, the versatility of the repertoire allows more freedom in instrumentation and levels when organizing groups.
We believe in the importance of cultivating future leaders who are accountable, kind, have great interpersonal skills, empathetic, are team players and lead by example. We believe that chamber music is one of the best tools to help foster those qualities. We also present workshops that focus on leadershp skills and encourage leadership focused dialogues during our festival.
03. High Quality Music Education
We believe that everyone should have access to highly qualified music teachers if they desire so. Our faculty members are regarded as some of the best music educators of their region. You can read the impressive bios of our teachers here.
We provide a platform for all to play chamber music, regardless of age or skill level, at an affordable price. Young children, advanced youth, diligent high school students, college music majors, semi-professionals, adult learners, all types of chamber music lovers — we want you all! We request a placement video instead of an audition in order to place each participant with the most compatible players and assign coaches and the repertoire they can most benefit from.
We also provide need-based scholarships and online accessibility to make our program available to all who want to participate in it.
We believe in value of sharing the beauty of and love for music through public performance.
