Dr. Carmen Wolthuis Hall, a professional pianist, performs regularly as a soloist and a chamber music artist. She is a music teacher in her private studio as well as a faculty member at Utah Valley University. She holds a doctoral degree in Piano Performance with Music Theory as a secondary field from University of Utah.
Carmen grew up in the small community of Sweet Home, Oregon where she took piano lessons and regularly attended the Community Concert Series with her family. As a result of attending these concerts, one of Carmen’s interests is sharing music with others in her community, country and around the world.
Dr. Carmen Hall returned to perform with the Timpanogos Symphony Orchestra in April 2023, playing Gershwin’s Concerto in F. She has also performed with the Salt Lake City Symphony, Brigham Young University Philharmonic, and the Emerald Chamber Orchestra. Carmen also performs regularly in the Timpanogos Chamber Music Series.
Carmen and her husband, Bruce, have three sons – Dr. Jared Hall, Ryan Hall, and Andrew Hall. Like her sons, Carmen enjoys sports including cycling and running. She has completed five marathons including the Boston Marathon.
